About
The Vlabs blog comes from v, an independent charity aiming to inspire a new generation of volunteers (aged 16-25) in England. v was launched in May 2006 as a result of the Russell Commission report, ‘A National Framework for Youth Action and Engagement’.
The blog aims to chronicle innovation in volunteering in the UK and across the world, to lead by example and to give a voice to novel volunteering-related initiatives being undertaken that many of us would otherwise miss.
The blog is intended to be a one-stop resource for all individuals and organisations interested in discovering ways to revitalise a community, a neighbourhood, a city or a country through volunteering, by presenting ideas that they can consider for themselves or for people they know may be interested. We hope that this blog will be a voice for all of these people, so that important questions are considered in healthy debate, where concerned people get the opportunity to ask questions they may be looking for an answer to.
We look forward to hearing what you have to say, so make sure you join the fun. Because volunteering can be fun!
